2011 PHOTO'S AND FISHING REPORTS

. Yesterday we held our annual comp Police/ GDAC at St Kilda with
23 members & friends fishing . The Police club had 24 members .We fished
for the 3 best fish from each club.The wind was a little stronger than was for
casted it got up to 13knots with Gust to16 from the south east the sea was like
a washing machine .A lot of Snapper were caught .
The Polic club won the night with 3 fish for 13.835 kg GDAC not far behind with
12.865kg. Well done to all that fished.
The 3best fished forGDAC was karl Phil & Dennis.
For our club comp Karl Ravanello first Phil Campbell second Dennis
Rowlands third .I would thank our weight master Graham for the work he done
at the weight in .
We weighted in a total of 83.7 kg. Karl 14.28kg Phil 10.25. Dennis 8.98 kg.

Greensborough Angling Club had a trip to Khancoban in NSW last weekend. The weather was too good with no wind and plenty of sunshine once the fog lifted. 8 members landed a total of 38 fish for the Saturday and Sunday morning which 90% were released to fight again another day. The winner was Allan Moore, Second Tim Plummer, Third Mark Hall. All members caught fish and had a great weekend.

Greensborough & District Angling Club Inc. had there presentation night on Saturday. With a smaller number than usual attending due to other members travelling all over Australia a great night was had by all. Congratulations goes to all the competion winners with 23 comps held through last fishing season.
Champion Club Angler Senior & Champion Club Member went to Allan Moore by a close margin to John Dafilis and Ron Mallett
Champion Club Angler Junior & Champion club Member Junior went to Ethan Bradbury - Hogan.
We had a large raffle and some great gifts were donated by members and our generous sponsors. There was some different entertainment in while we were having a break with one of our members Lee Bricknell giving a didgeridoo show on how to play it properly.

Members have been fishing out off StLeonards landing whiting and squid in good numbers over the last few weeks
The club had a trip to Bemm River over the long weekend with the fishing being tough on the first day but improving over the following days with many fish being caught on vibe lures and bait.
10 members fished one of our surf comps at Kilcunda and most struggled to land a fish with a strong wind blowing.
1st was Brian Bam, 2nd : Tony Buhargiar 3rd: Florian Karwaki. Largest fish landed was 41cm with an average of 38cm

13 members headed down to Bemm river in East Gippsland to fish our annual competition over the March long weekend. With fantastic weather over the Saturday and Sunday it was going to be tough fishing
for the guys on lures. The surprise was all anglers got fish with Bream being the most prolific, Flathead, Estuay Perch and even a Luderick showing up.
In total between all anglers we weighed in more than 60kg of fish and released back into the water about 50 kg of fish to be caught again another day.
Well done to Allan Moore for winning the comp with a bag of over 14kg, Tim Plummer second with a bag over 10kg and Mark Hall 3rd with a bag just under 10kg.

Memebers fished the Essendon Masters competition on the Marybrynong river against several other club all in it to win the inaugral sheild.
Greensborough won the day with 10 members fishing and catching 13 Bream with an average weight over the 10 anglers of 607.3 grms.
Well done to Ron Mallett & Mick O'Connell for getting 5 fish each and to Ethan for getting the heaviest bream at 710 grms.

With a small crew heading to Lake Mulwala on the NSW and Victoria border for our annual Australia day long weekend comp.
Fishing conditions were tough to say the least with the water being very discoloured from recent rains and windy the first couple of days.
With only 1 size fish being caught which was a Murray cod at 68cm. All other anglers landed fish which ranged from 45cm to 58cm. (Min Legal 60cm)

Stony Point Western Port - Biggest Bag.
Last Sunday was the Biggest Bag comp in WesternPort and we had a good turnout of about 16 people given the Weather predictions for strong wind and Warm Day.
Michael was Trip Captain on the Day and his call to continue the comp was a great idea as the conditions were pretty good in the end.
Most Fish caught on the Day were Whiting with a few Flathead and small Pinkies.
