2009 PHOTO'S AND FISHING REPORTS

Members have been catching Snapper all over the bay with good reports from around Fawkner beacon and transit channel marker at 19-21 meters of water.
Whiting are around Werribee area with a bit of work a bag can be caught.
Snapper are also off Werribee with some big fish to 7kg being caught.
Lake Eppalock is slowly starting to produce some Yellowbelly with lures being the preffered weapon. Redfin are also in big numbers but are not really a big size.
Lake Eildon has been producing alot of Yellowbelly to 5kg and the odd larger one. Trout to 9lb have also been landed tgrolling deep diving lures and Tassie devils.
A great Christmas party was held at the club rooms with neally 180 adults and kids attending. Santa arrived to give out the presents while the adults got stuck into some food. Kids were entertained with a jumping casdtle, lollies, and icypoles. Thanks to the social committee for running another succesful night.
Greensborough & District Angling club would like to wish all a safe and merry Christmas and return in the new year with some great fishing tales.

14 members headed to Jindabyne for the Melbourne Cup weekend to chase the trout. Most members landed fish with the odd 2-3 kg specimen amongst them. Lures and mudeyes were the preferred meathod for landing these trout.
The club also had a competition in with the Tea Tree fishing comp and a good turnout was done by the members. The largest fish caught by a club member was in excess of 7kg. Most members landed fish and weighed them in toward the club competition.
Greendborough Angling Club had it annual Snnaper Competion against the Police Angling Club on a Wednesday evening starting at 3-00pm until 10-00pm from Stkilda. Greensborough had 16 members fish with some without boats fishing from Matthew Hunts charter which the club organised so all could go. Some great fish were caught and congratulations to the Greensborough Angling Club members who won this year.

The club had a competition at Lake Eppalock with 13 members attending. Weather was a bit windy but overall not bad. The club only had 2 anglers weigh in fish which were yellow belly to 45cm. A few redfin were landed as well but they were on the small size.
Greensborough Angling Club fished the Jesson Sheild against Preston & Yea angling clubs. Greensborough once again won the sheild with the biggest bag of trout for the weekend. Well done to those members that attended.

Members had a great night at the Clubs Presentation night 2 weeks ago, with 80 members and family attending. Congratulations to Allan Moore for being club Champion angler and Luke Oltoumis for being Junior Angling Champion. Well done to all those that won a competition throught the year.
Members had a measure competition at Khancoban Pondage over last weekend, with some good catches had by members. Trout to 62cm were landed on bubble floats fished around the islands. There were some great fish measured in that were caught on lures trolled around the weed beeds.

Members have been fishing around Williamstown and catching Pinkie snapper to 40 cm on soft plastics
Members also have done well on the squid and whiting around CarioBay with many bags being caught.
Black Rock has gone quiet on the pinkies but there are a few salmon around.
The club had a trip to Gunnamatta on the surf with only a few Salmon being landed. The whole beach seemed quiet with alot of fisherman going home with an empty bag.
Squid have been caught around rye over the weed bed over the last couple of weeks.
Eildon Lake is producing a few trout to people trolling Tassie Devils in a pink colour.
Lake Mulwala has been fishing well for natives with some great cod being caught. Currently the water is dropping rapidly and you can still launch at some ramps but will be hard to launch boats in shortly until it refills to a good level. Contact Mulwala Surf Bait & Ski for info on conditions.

Fishing has been going well at lake Mulwala with fish to 70cm being landed casting and trolling lures. The lake is soon to be drawn down to a very low level.
Lake Purrumbete is producing Trout to 3kg and Quinnet Salmon to 5kg.
Lake Eppalock is a bit quiet at this stage but should improve soon
Eildon pondage has produced a few trout on scrubworms on the bottom.
